Family Life

An excellent family dog, the Barbet adapts very well to the presence of children and other household pets.
Very attached to its owner, wherever you go, it will want to be there. We affectionately call it the "Velcro dog." The Barbet is not a good guard dog, but it will alert you to the presence of strangers.

Education
The Barbet is an intelligent dog and learns quickly.

Training should be done using positive reinforcement methods because they are sensitive dog. The Barbet performs well in a variety of activities, including agility, conformation, hunting, and pet therapy, to name a few.

The Barbet responds particularly well to positive reinforcement.
